The short answer
In Los Angeles, a seamless 3.9mm LED video wall from us costs $1,000 to $7,000 per event day for the gear, depending on size. Delivery, build, strike and a technician are quoted on top, and for most single-day events in the LA area they add roughly $1,100 to $1,300. So a typical operated DJ-booth wall at a wedding lands around $3,100–$3,300 all in, and a full main-stage wall for a two-day conference lands around $12,400. The rest of this guide shows where those numbers come from.
| Wall size | Typical use | Gear, per event day |
|---|---|---|
| 8' x 5' accent wall | Trade-show booth, sponsor loop, small stage backdrop, product reveal | From $1,000 |
| 12' x 7' DJ booth wall | Weddings, quinceañeras, private parties, small conferences | From $2,000 |
| 16' x 9' stage wall | Keynotes, church services, award nights, viewing parties | From $3,000 |
| 23' x 13' full wall (112 tiles) | Summits, festivals, car launches, outdoor viewing parties | From $7,000 |
Those are gear rates for one event day. Everything below is about what gets added, and why.
What gets added to the gear rate
Delivery, build and strike
Inside the Los Angeles area, delivery and transport is a flat $500: the truck, the crew's transport and the load-in logistics. Orange County, the Inland Empire and San Diego are quoted by distance and shown as their own line. Build and strike are part of the technician's shift rather than a separate charge.
Technician
On an operated rental a video technician builds, cables and calibrates the wall, then stays at the processor for the run of show to manage sources and switch content. Technician labor is billed per shift: about $600 for an eight-hour shift and about $800 for a twelve-hour show day. One shift covers most single-day events.
Venue-driven lines
Some venues add costs that have nothing to do with us: convention-center drayage, union labor for rigging or electrical, a dock fee, or a street-load-in permit for a loft with no dock. We itemize each so you can see it, and we ask about them before we quote so they never appear afterward.
Multi-day events: 1.5x, not 2x
A wall that stays installed overnight is billed at 1.5x the day rate for a two-day hold, not double. It is not turning for another job, but it is not being trucked and rebuilt either, and the price reflects that. Labor is per shift for each day the technician is on site. For a three-day trade show we quote the full run so you see one number, and it is always far less than three separate rentals.
Operated versus dry hire
Everything above describes an operated rental: we deliver, build, run and strike. Production companies with their own crew can dry hire instead: tiles, ground-stack hardware, NovaStar processing and signal cabling, cased and ready to load, with your team building and operating. Dry hire is the gear rate plus delivery or pickup, with no technician line. If you do not have a crew that has built this wall before, operated is the right choice; the technician is the cheapest insurance on the quote.
Three worked examples
1. A 12' x 7' wall behind the DJ at a Los Angeles wedding
- Gear: $2,000
- Delivery (LA area): $500
- Technician, one shift: $600–$800
- Total: about $3,100–$3,300
If the wedding is in Orange County or Temecula, the delivery line changes and nothing else does. Couples booking a full wedding production package get the wall bundled with DJ, audio, lighting and effects instead.
2. An 8' x 5' booth wall for a three-day trade show
- Gear, three-day hold: quoted as one run, less than three day rates
- Delivery: $500, or more at a convention center with drayage
- Technician: a build shift on day one, a strike shift on day three; a standby operator during show hours only if you want one
- Total: typically in the low-to-mid thousands, depending on the hall's labor rules
3. The full 23' x 13' wall for a two-day corporate conference
- Gear, two-day hold at 1.5x: $10,500
- Delivery (LA area): $500
- Day 1 build shift: $600; Day 2 show shift: $800
- Total: about $12,400 for the wall alone
Most clients at that scale bundle the stage, line-array PA and lighting with the wall. The itemized 2-day build on the corporate page shows the whole package line by line; it typically lands between $12,500 and $16,500.
What moves the number
- Size. The biggest lever. A 16' x 9' wall is half the price of the full wall and reads perfectly from the back of a ballroom. Here is how to pick a size.
- Days. Each additional consecutive day at the same venue adds half a day rate, not a full one.
- Operated or dry hire. Dry hire removes the technician line; it only makes sense with an experienced crew.
- Flown or ground-stacked. Flying the wall from truss or house rigging takes more time and sometimes house riggers; ground-stacking on its own structure is the default.
- Indoor or outdoor. Outdoor builds add wind-rated structure, sometimes a generator, and a site check. We plan them in; they are not surprises.
- Where. LA is a flat $500. Orange County, the Inland Empire and San Diego are quoted by distance.
What is included in the gear rate
Matched 3.9mm tiles from a single inventory, the ground-stack structure or flying hardware, NovaStar processing with HDMI and SDI inputs, power distribution and signal cabling, and pre-show calibration. We also send the exact pixel dimensions and file specs for your wall size ahead of time, so your designer builds content that fits the first time.
How to get an accurate quote fast
Send the date (and last day if multi-day), the venue name and city, the wall size you have in mind or the room dimensions, indoor or outdoor, and whether you want the wall operated or dry hire. That is enough for a written quote within one business day with one number for gear and one for delivery, build and technician.
