Working in San Diego

Two hours south, so we make the trip count

San Diego is the farthest regular run from our warehouse, and we are straightforward about what that means. Delivery is quoted by distance, so a San Diego rental makes the most sense for the shows that justify a crew and a truck for the day: a convention booth or keynote, a multi-day conference, a festival stage, a large corporate meeting, or a wedding that wants the full wall. For a small single-day wall a local vendor may serve you better, and we'll say so.

Where we're the right call, the inventory and the process are the same as in LA: 3.9mm tiles from 8' x 5' to 23' x 13', NovaStar processing with HDMI and SDI, ground-stacked or flown, and a technician at the processor through the show. Multi-day holds are billed at 1.5x the day rate, not per day, so a three-day convention wall costs far less than three separate rentals.

San Diego's venues bring their own logistics: the Convention Center's dock schedule and labor rules, the bayfront and Gaslamp hotels' freight elevators, and the Coronado and La Jolla terraces with ocean wind and afternoon glare. We ask about all of it before we quote.

What San Diego venues mean for the build

Each venue type below needs a slightly different plan. Tell us where the wall is going and we build the quote around it.

  • San Diego Convention CenterDock windows, drayage and show labor apply. Booth walls that fit 10' and 20' footprints, or keynote walls up to 23' x 13' for general sessions, with labor itemized in the quote.
  • Gaslamp & bayfront hotelsThe Marriott Marquis, Hilton Bayfront, Manchester Grand Hyatt and the Gaslamp hotels: ballrooms with rigging points for flown walls and freight elevators that set the load-in timeline.
  • Coronado, La Jolla & Del MarResort lawns, terraces and tented receptions with ocean wind and late-afternoon glare. We plan for wind loading on the structure and set brightness for the hour the content runs.
  • Mission Bay & waterfront parksFestival and fan-event sites with generator power and long cable runs. Ground-stacked walls on their own structure, built around the site's power plan.
  • Carlsbad & North County corporateBiotech, tech and golf-resort campuses along the 5 for sales kickoffs, all-hands and customer events, typically a 16' x 9' wall fed from a laptop or the house switcher.
What's Included

The Same Wall, Wherever in San Diego It Goes

Every quote covers the full system, not just the tiles. Here's what is on the truck for an operated rental.

  • 3.9mm LED tiles, sized to your quoteFrom an 8' x 5' accent wall to the full 23' x 13', 112-tile wall. Matched tiles from one inventory, so color and brightness are uniform.
  • Ground-stack structure or flying hardwareThe support the wall stands on or hangs from, engineered for the configuration you booked.
  • NovaStar processingHDMI and SDI inputs, scaling and test patterns, configured to your wall's exact pixel map.
  • Power distribution and signal cablingEverything between the venue's power and the wall, plus the signal run from your source to the processor.
  • Delivery to San Diego, build and strikeOur crew delivers, builds, cables and tests the wall before you arrive, then strikes and loads out when you're done.
  • On-site video technicianA technician stays at the processor for the run of show to manage sources, switch content and handle anything that comes up.
  • Pre-show calibrationTest patterns, brightness set for the room (or the sun) and a full content check before doors open.
  • Content guidanceWe send the pixel dimensions and file specs for your wall ahead of time so your designer builds content that fits the first time.

Delivery to San Diego is quoted by distance from our Los Angeles warehouse, about two hours each way, and shown as its own line. Because the trip costs the same whether the wall is small or large, San Diego rentals are best value for larger walls and multi-day shows, where the wall stays installed at 1.5x the day rate. Tell us the dates and we'll quote it honestly, including when a smaller local rental would serve you better.

Questions from San Diego clients

LED Wall Rental in San Diego: FAQ

Is it worth bringing an LED wall from Los Angeles to San Diego?

For a convention booth, a keynote, a multi-day conference, a festival stage or a wedding that wants the full wall, yes: the delivery line is a small share of the total and you get one crew and one quote. For a small single-day wall it may not be, and we'll tell you.

How is a multi-day San Diego rental priced?

Gear is held at 1.5x the day rate for the run, not billed per day, and labor is per shift for each day the technician is on site. A three-day convention wall is far cheaper than three separate rentals, and the truck only comes south once.

Can you work at the San Diego Convention Center?

Yes. We build the Center's dock windows, drayage and show-labor rules into the schedule and the quote once we have the exhibitor kit or your stage plan.

Can the wall go outdoors on the coast?

Yes. The tiles are outdoor-capable and bright enough for daylight-shaded use. On Coronado and La Jolla terraces we plan for ocean wind on the structure and afternoon glare on the face of the wall, and we'll advise on placement and timing.

Do you do dry hire in San Diego?

Yes. Tiles, ground-stack hardware, NovaStar processing and signal cabling, cased and ready, delivered to your site, or picked up from our Los Angeles warehouse by your crew.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as you have the date and the venue. A 50% deposit holds the tiles and crew; convention weeks and summer weekends go first.
