Weddings in Pasadena

Historic rooms deserve a careful crew

Pasadena's wedding venues are old in the best way: the grand hotels, the Craftsman-era estates, the gardens and courtyards, the museums and the clubs. Rooms like these come with rules that protect them, and we build around them. Floor protection for hardwood and tile, load-in paths that avoid the historic entrance, no open flame anywhere, and effects policies that vary venue by venue. Cold spark fountains, which have no open flame and low heat, are the reason many historic ballrooms allow a spark moment at all, but every venue decides for itself and we confirm it in writing before you book.

Outdoor ceremonies in the gardens and courtyards need audio that is clear without being loud: a lapel mic on the officiant, handheld mics for vows, and speakers placed for the space. Indoors, uplighting and the LED wall do the transforming, and in rooms with real architecture we size and place the wall so it frames the room rather than fights it.

Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley are inside our LA-area delivery, so there is no distance line. Load-in rules and effects approvals are handled directly with your venue before the day.

What Pasadena wedding venues mean for the night

The notes below are the planning we do for every venue type. Tell us yours and the quote reflects it.

Check your venue
  • Historic hotels & ballroomsThe Langham Huntington, the Pasadena Hilton and the ballrooms around Old Pasadena: freight paths and ceiling heights decide the wall size, floor protection is standard, and the hotel's effects policy is confirmed in writing.
  • Craftsman estates & gardensPasadena, San Marino and Altadena estates and garden venues: outdoor ceremonies with clear, contained audio, receptions on lawns or in tents with power planned from the house or a quiet generator.
  • Museums, courtyards & clubsThe Athenaeum, the University Club, Castle Green and the courtyard venues: historic-room rules, no open flame, walls sized to the architecture and lighting that respects it.
  • Churches & templesCeremonies in Pasadena's historic churches with a lapel mic on the officiant and handheld mics for readings, tied into the house system where the church allows.
  • San Gabriel Valley banquet halls & country clubsArcadia, Monrovia, La Cañada and Glendora venues: classic reception rooms where uplighting, the LED wall and a tuned PA do the most to transform the space.

How the Night Runs

A Pasadena wedding, start to finish

Here is how a typical wedding with us unfolds. Your timeline is built with you and your planner in advance.

Ceremony in the Garden

Officiant on a wireless lapel mic, handheld mics for vows and readings, processional and recessional cued to the second, with audio clear but contained for a courtyard or lawn.

Cocktail Hour

A separate speaker setup with a curated playlist on the terrace or in the courtyard, so the ballroom is being finished while guests are already enjoying the music.

Grand Entrance

Uplights shift to your colors, moving heads sweep the room, your names appear on the LED wall and the DJ brings you in on the track you chose.

First Dance

Fog spreads across the floor as the song begins. The lights narrow to the two of you. On the chorus, four cold spark fountains fire on cue, where the venue allows.

Toasts & Dinner

Handheld mics for speeches, a slideshow or live visuals on the wall, and lighting set low and warm while dinner is served.

Open Dance Floor & Last Dance

Line-array sound with proper bass, moving heads and color changes on the beat, a DJ reading the room, and a clean, careful strike that leaves a historic room as we found it.

Pasadena, San Marino, Arcadia and the San Gabriel Valley are inside our LA-area delivery, so there is no distance line on a Pasadena quote. What we plan with the venue before the day is the load-in path, floor protection and the effects policy, so nothing is discovered on the morning of the wedding.

How It Works

From Date Check to Last Dance

  1. Check the date

Send your date, venue and guest count. We confirm availability first, then send a written quote for the pieces you want.

  2. Venue approval

We contact your venue, explain exactly what we run and confirm fog and cold sparks in writing before you book effects.

  3. Timeline & cues

You and your planner send us the timeline; we send back a production version with cue points for the entrance, first dance, toasts and last dance.

  4. The night

One crew loads in, runs music, sound, lighting and effects from one run-of-show, and strikes cleanly after the last song.

Questions Pasadena couples ask

Before You Book

Will a historic Pasadena venue allow fog and cold sparks?

Many allow cold sparks because the fountains have no open flame, low heat and no pyrotechnic smoke, and some allow low fog because it stays at floor level and clears quickly. Historic rooms vary more than hotels do, so we contact your venue directly, explain exactly what we run, and confirm in writing before you book either effect.

Do you protect hardwood and tile floors?

Yes. Floor protection under the wall structure, the stage and the effects units is standard in any historic room, and load-in paths are agreed with the venue so nothing goes through the historic entrance.

Can the LED wall fit in a room with real architecture?

Yes. In historic ballrooms we size the wall to the room, usually 12' x 7' behind the DJ, and place it so it frames the dance floor rather than hiding the room. Your monogram and visuals are designed to suit the space.

Can you tie into a church's sound system for the ceremony?

Where the church allows it, yes. Otherwise we bring a compact, discreet ceremony setup with a lapel mic on the officiant and handheld mics for readings.

Can we see an estimate before we send our details?

Yes. The package builder on the weddings page shows a live estimate as you tick what you want in the room. This page's form sends the same request with your venue already in Pasadena.

How far in advance should we book?

As soon as you have a date and a venue. Peak season in Southern California runs roughly May through October and Saturdays go first. The 50% deposit is what holds your date.
